FIRST QUARTER NEWSLETTER FOR 2006

HELLO,

Dear Family Members, Friends and Visitors,

The Christmas season is over and we have all returned to work. Some of us here have to work hard to reduce the fat built up during the celebrations season and to start implementing the resolutions we made for the new year. One of our resolutions is to UPDATE this site quarterly. We made that resolution before but were unable to keep it up. There is no harm trying again and so here we are with the updates is for the first quarter of the year.

1. WE ARE STILL AT TRIPOD.COM

As we have not been able to resolve our login problems at TRKHosting, we have gone ahead to develop the site at Tripod. So, please continue to look for us there. The address is  https://oloruntoba0.tripod.com/index.html. In fact, the site at TRKHosting may soon be deleted because our payments have expired. We want to repeat that our login problem at TRKHosting is not the fault of the host but that of our local ISP who is still unable to resolve it. Fortunately, the adverts in our free Tripod site are family friendly and not obtrusive.

2. OUR PHOTO GALLERY

Our re-designed photo gallery is delightful as some of you have reported. We encourage both visitors and family members to view some the amazing photos from the family albums posted there. More...

3. THE CHRISTIAN FORUM

The latest addition to this forum is the Message to the English Service of my Church on February 12, 2006. Topic: Son, Your Sins Are Forgiven. This is the story of the paralytic healed by Jesus in Mark 2:1-12. The Paralytic came to Jesus to be healed. He got the forgiveness of his sins, the healing he wanted and above all, the Son-ship of God because of his faith. We are all paralytics spiritually but we too can get these things if we have faith.

3. ARTS AND CULTURE

We have a "new" section dubbed "Reflections in Cartoons" to house permanently, copies of the cartoons produced by Bunmi Oloruntoba when he was the Editorial Cartoonist for The Guardian newspapers in 2000-2001. These cartoons continue to appear as fillers in the Chuckles Page containing the weekly Guardian cartoons. Bunmi's cartoons are commentaries on contemporary Nigerian economic, social and political issues. Since these issues are still very much with us, the cartoons are not outdated. No wonder, they enjoy being used as fillers four to five years after the author left the newspaper.

6. OUR SOFTWARE DISCOVERIES

In the last update, we shared with you two of our software discoveries namely, FreeNote - a virtual yellow note sticker and Gadwin PrintScreen - a screen capturing software.. We have two more of our discoveries in this update. They are: EditURLs and e-Sword.

(1) EditURLs is a Free browser tool that provides the user with the capability to edit individual URL or addresses in Internet Explorer's Address Bar. These addresses are also referred to as "Typed URLs". This is an indispensable tool for keeping your address bar clean.

(2) e-sword is an amazing Bible study freeware. We have been looking for a simple, cheap and effective Bible study software for a long time. We tried many that were found through search engines, but they were unsatisfactory. Then when we consulted our friend, Rev. Park Wheat in Texas USA, on a Biblical issue not related to any software, he asked us to use e-Sword to throw more light on what we were looking for. We did and that was great!!

e-Sword is fast and effective Bible study tool. It is user-friendly and has more capabilities than one would expect from a free software package.

7. COMING NEXT QUARTER

--A new recipe from Grandma.

--Two new software discoveries.

-- More rare pictures from the family albums.

Goodbye and thank you for visiting us. See you again soon.
