Africa Revival

This is a section on Africa Revival issues. Africa is inundated with several problems among which are, Poverty, Hunger and Malnutrition, Ethnic Wars, and HIV. Nonetheless, many Africans have not lost hope about the ability of the continent to survive and progress. Views on these problems and possible solutions are offered in this section. The views here are largely personal opinions and do not reflect the views of particular political groups or organizations.

In previous updates we presented interesting accounts of an important conference held in Washington DC, USA in June 2001, on the problem of African agriculture and measures to cut African hunger. We also presented Dr. Akin Adesina's pet subject - Africa Renewal (revival of African economy) as well as his views and comments in an essay on that beautiful country - Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) - now embroiled in a political crisis.

In the current update, we bring you two articles of great relevance to African development - Fertiliser Usage and Subsidies. Click the links on the top to see each of these presentations.
