Letters From USA 4

Hi, everyone

,
I see each one of you in my dreams now and then, so I kind of guess that's a sign that you are all fine. I don't know if Daddy is still planning to go to London in October- if you are, please call when you get there. Greetings to Mummy (The number one Lever Bros Distributor in West Africa). I'm sure you are terribly busy these days but I know the Lord has the perfect retirement and pension plan worked out for you. I miss you guys a lot.

I saw the "Bride's maid of the Millennium" picture. Big Sis Yeti... opps sorry, Christine really looks cool. The clock turning back full circle really is special. How is Kaduna? We heard about the Riots in Kano (my home). I hope its not as bad as it sounds from here.

Love to the Lesotho Mountaineers. I saw Jordan's first game. It was strange seeing him in a non Chicago uniform. It was like seeing the sun rise in the west or something. He played well, but they still lost to Detroit. I guess he longs for those days when he brought the Bulls out from Obscurity, into the light. How is work and the Mos?

I hear Bros Akin has been sort of grounded since Sept 11. I hope you are getting a lot of rest and getting used to the ground, gravity, regular time, home cooking instead of airports and lunch packs. And we'll continue to pray for every plane you board, that all those empty seats will have Angels sitting in them. How are the boys?

Big Sis said the situation in Zimbabwe is still bleak. I think after BL has been picked up the US should make a stop over in Z and pick up M too - he shouldn't be hard to find. I spoke to Leke and Nike a couple of nights ago and they are getting set to hit Washington soon. That means they will only be a few hours away. Can't wait for you guys to settle in. I hope you get a house next to Michael Jordan. Love and Hugs to Roland (The Man). The temperature is dropping over here as I type this. My teeth are clattering like crazy. Guess I'm about to experience my first winter. I will be wearing those big shoes Bros Yinka got me. School is fine. I'm enjoying a kinda mid-term break right now. One of my instructors left for Tanzania to research a film the school is planning to make soon: so the last two classes have been "talks" with film directors and writers, invited to acquaint us with the business and harsh realities of Hollywood. Some weeks ago, Andrew Laszlo was here with the Kodak team for a seminar with all the film students. He was the director of cinematography on the first Rambo movie (Firstblood). I was trembling a little when he sat next to me - my first clash with Hollywood royalty!

The job is fine and America is getting back to normal. Jay Leno and Letterman are back on air and we are all laughing again. Its best to understand America as more of a business, than just a country. Even though everything has changed, "business must go on as usual".
Love, Bunmi
