Thanks for the home news

Thanks for the home news. It was wonderful to read your breakdown of events at home. I thank God for mummy and Elidel. To think that she started all this with less than a $100 and today it has grown into a company, that employs people and moves commodities all over the state. This is indeed a miracle. Mummy's faith and hard work has paid off... not to mention Daddy's managerial skills, financial and moral support. I'm always talking to people over here, about my mummy and the business she started by closing her small bank savings of less than $100. And how with one finger, she typed an application for whole sale distribution of sugar. She got it and from there got lunched into the commodity wholesale business. It is a great story of faith.

Glad to hear about improvements to NEPA. I had friends who started barbing salons and other businesses but wound up in debt because of power outages. Each time there is a power outage, it is a drain on the economy. I'm thrilled that Obasanjo has employed farming techniques to the Nigerian economic problems. He has given us improved telecommunications. If he can also give us reliable and consistent light, Nigerians will do the rest. I'm sure, come next election, there will be enough hardworking, independent minded Nigerians to vote him back in.

Over here, the semester is winding up. My last classes are these week and then summer classes will start. My summer class lasts only a week, after that, I will start making plans to visit Leke and Nike in D.C. It all depends on my work hours. Summer is the time when you can get some extra hours and save up some money before school starts. This summer is also crucial, because I have a lot of entrees to prepare for, contests, scripts to rewrite and a one act play to write for the Regent theatre contest.

Next fall, the school of communication will be moving into it's new building. You can check it out on the regent web site. It is a state of the art facility. The faculty is very excited and so are we. I've been to daddy's web site, it's awesome!

I'm delighted with my new script. It's not perfect, but it's structurally better than my first effort. Gil says by the time I'm writing my 10th, I will be an old hand. Film scripts require talent and craft. It is the craft that takes a while to master. McDougal is always reading the short scripts I write for his assignments to the class. It's always a thrill to hear your work read.

I thought last semester was bad but this semester was war. Graduate school is far beyond academics, it's a test of will, courage and character. If you don't have them, you'll have to build them... there is no other way to get through. Thanks, daddy and mummy for preparing all of us for this.

Love you. Bunmi
