Nigerian Pepper Soups

Nigerians enjoy the pepper soups in all weather conditions, be it in the wet season or dry. In this update we are going to show you how to make a Beef Pepper soup (BPS) and a Chicken one (CPS).

BPS:You need half a kilo of beef for a family of four. You‘ll need a small size onion, tomatoes, African black pepper or chilli, some dry fish, ground Cray fish, beef oxo or magi, Smoked or dried fish and salt.

Preparation:  Chop the beef into small pieces, add your beef oxo and boil in a saucepan. When the beef is done put it aside and fry your ground tomato, pepper, and onions. Add the ground Cray fish and mix to form a pepper paste. Put back the boiled beef on your stove, add more water and mix with the pepper paste. Lower the fire and allow to cook slowly. Add salt to taste. Remember that meat for pepper soup should not be fried. This is important.

CPS:Use the same method as for the BPS. Use half a kilo of broiler chicken in place of beef. The other ingredients are as for BPS except that you should use chicken magi or chicken Oxo, instead of the beef varieties. Serve both hot.
